Colorado is full of relaxed, welcoming, rustic restaurants that really capture the Rocky Mountain vibe. Most of these places offer burgers, fish, beer, and cocktails, plus comfortable furniture, great views, nature-themed decor, and a warm, friendly atmosphere. A few rise above and stand out, though, and one that does exactly that with ease is Murphy’s Mountain Grill, a rustic restaurant in Evergreen, Colorado. Only a bit over a half hour from downtown Denver, this spot is worth the drive because the food is excellent, the service is top-notch, and the cocktails are next-level.

The food at this spot is top-notch. Why not start with a bowl of Evergreen Smoked Pork Green Chili?? Murphy's puts its own spin on the classic with shredded cheese, cilantro, pickled red onions, pepitas, and tortilla strips.
Another great option for lunch is the Harvest Chicken Salad. It's both sweet and crunchy and features grilled chicken, spiced candied pecans, sundried tomato, crumbled bleu cheese, and sliced apples with raspberry poppy seed dressing. Yum!
The burgers at Murphy's Mountain Grill are some of the most popular items. If you like heat, you might like the When in Mexico Burger! It's an Angus beef patty topped with a seared, bacon-wrapped hot dog, jalapeños, avocado sauce, crema, lettuce, pickled red onions, chipotle ketchup, and ghost pepper jack cheese.
You're probably going to want to have a beverage handy.
If you're looking for a more traditional burger, try The Murph. It's a patty topped with chili-dusted bacon, avocado pepper jack cheese, saddle back BBQ sauce, sriracha mayo, and crispy onion frizzles.
Most of us don't think of excellent shrimp dishes when we think of Colorado cuisine, but Murphy's Mountain Grill does it right. These Chipotle Grilled Tiger Shrimp Tacos are topped with pineapple mango salsa, cheese, and passion fruit serrano chili sour cream drizzle.
Vegetarians will be happy at Murphy's Mountain Grill, too. There are numerous vegetarian options, and they're just as good as the meat entrees. This vegetarian sandwich is made with balsamic grilled zucchini, portobello mushrooms, garlic hummus, and more. It's very satisfying.
And, on top of all the delectable food at Murphy's Mountain Grill, there are also memorable and perfect cocktails. All cocktails are hand-muddled, and they're just as beautiful as the food - and just as enjoyable to drink as the food is to eat!
