Everyone who lives in or has visited Colorado knows about the Royal Gorge Bridge (AKA the highest bridge in America), but did you know that there are more of these unique structures than just this famous one? No, we aren’t talking about covered bridges or footbridges (as charming as they are), but rather the memorable Swinging Bridge at Browns Park.
Located near Craig is Browns Park, an isolated mountain valley that surrounds the Green River.
Beginning at the Gates of Lodore in Dinosaur National Monument (Colorado) and ending in eastern Utah, Browns Park is as historical as it is serene, as it is said to have once housed the likes of outlaws Tom Horn and Butch Cassidy (pictured).
When you visit Browns Park today, you will discover all kinds of natural wonders, as well as unique landmarks like the pictured Swinging Bridge at Browns Park.
Spanning an incredible 320 feet, the Swinging Bridge at Browns Park is a mere one mile east of the Colorado-Utah border and is constructed entirely of aluminum and steel.
It's sure pretty to look at, isn't it?
In addition to the Swinging Bridge, Browns Park is home to several other things to see and do, including wildlife watching, hunting and fishing, camping, hiking, and general sightseeing.
Browns Park is open year-round, and admission is free.
