Parents, teachers, and churches tell us that we should not judge, but let’s face it: we all still kind of do it. When it comes to people in Colorado, we tend to all be lumped into a few categories, including these seven stereotypes that we may just as well accept as fact:
1. The ski bum
We see you, weekend warrior, and we salute you for grinning and bearing the I-70 traffic every... single... weekend.
2. The ride-or-die Broncos fan
Win or lose (probably lose), this Coloradan BLEEDS orange and blue.
3. The stoner
Why does everyone outside of Colorado assume that everyone here is a hardcore stoner? Sure, we were one of the first states to legalize it, but we don't all look like this guy (only, like, 89.7% of us do)...
4. The cowboy
Did you know that the first ever rodeo took place in Deer Trail, Colorado? Not only do we have this to brag about, but Colorado is also home to the world's largest stock show, the National Western Stock Show and Rodeo!
5. The hippie
Also known as a Boulderite, the Colorado hippie partakes in the occasional blunt, wears loose fitting vegan clothing, and eats a vegetarian or vegan diet as well.
6. The techie friend
Are you the friend that everyone calls whenever their computer or phone is acting up? Congratulations: You're this Coloradan (and are not only vital to our survival, but the survival of the thriving Colorado tech industry).
7. The farmer
AKA the backbone of not only our state, but the entire country!
