When most people think of lush and ample vineyards, they think of Napa, California. Coloradans, however, are not most people, as we know where to go to get our vineyard fix, which is the small and charming Western Slope town of Palisade. Some of the best vineyards in Colorado can be found here:
Located just north of Grand Junction, Palisade is a picturesque town of 2,500 that just so happens to also boasts vineyards and wineries galore.
Nicknamed the "Peach Capital of Colorado," there is no place quite like Palisade, as the area specializes in growing and fermenting fruit and turning it into award-winning wines.
When you visit, your five senses will be treated to wines of every kind, thanks to tours and tasting rooms at well-known vineyards like the Bookcliff, Carlson, and Hermosa Vineyards (pictured).

In addition to its vineyards, Palisade is home to more than one dozen plus wineries, most of which - like the vineyards - offer tastings and various events.
As if the many vineyards and wineries didn't make Palisade a must-visit, the town is even home to the Wine Country Inn, a beautiful hotel with a lovely backdrop and world-class amenities.
