Inhabited by the Fremont Native Americans between 400 B.C. to 650 A.D., Rangely has a history as rich as the town itself, with oilmen coming to the area in the early 20th century and converting it into a successful oil camp.

Billed as being the largest oil field in the Rocky Mountain Region (with some 815 million+ barrels of oil, 406 producing wells, and 351 injection wells), oil is still the largest industry in town, yet there is even more to love about this quaint community.
