Montrose is a town in Colorado that is sometimes overlooked by visitors, and that absolutely should not be the case. This small city of around 20,000 residents has a small-town feel. Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park is only about 15 minutes away from central Montrose. You'll be amazed at the fall colors that you see in the park, especially in contrast with the black canyon itself.
