If you hail from Colorado, you know that our natives are some of the most unique, hardest working, and incredibly tough people there are, which is best demonstrated during these most uncertain of times. If you are not from here and aren’t sure what we mean, check out these 8 reasons people from Colorado are incredibly tough:
1. The cold doesn't bother us anyway
Not only do we voluntarily go to the mountains in the dead of winter (a la skiing, snowboarding, hiking, etc.), but we also wear flip flops in the snow and Land's End jackets - well, nearly every day.
2. Coloradans are incredibly strong
Hey, those 14ers aren't going to climb themselves!
3. Not only are we physically strong, but emotionally strong as well
While every state has seen its fair share of tragedy, Colorado has two recent instances that changed our lives forever, including the Columbine High School massacre of 1999 and Aurora Theater Shooting of 2012. Because of these two occurrences, we have learned to take care of our neighbors and loved ones even more while implementing ways of preventing these unspeakable tragedies from ever happening again.
4. Our stomachs have survived Casa Bonita
It isn't pleasant, but eating the "food" at Casa Bonita proves that we can do anything we set our minds to!
5. We voluntarily torture ourselves.
Forget waterboarding: just make enemies of the state stay up late drinking Colorado's stellar microbrews and then wake up at the crack of dawn to run up and down the steps at Red Rocks.
6. Our hearts have been broken time and again but we press on
We are looking at YOU, Broncos and Rockies!
7. We had to grow up quickly so that we could live here
The rumors are true: the cost of living in Colorado is astronomical, thanks to a crazy real estate market and higher groceries, utilities, and food in general.
8. Finally, the amount of traffic and idiot drivers we have encountered has made us steel-like
No comment needed for this, as everyone who has ever driven around Colorado knows precisely what we are talking about.
