Ah, autumn in Colorado. Every morning when I step outside, I get a sense of giddiness as I discover that more leaves have fallen to the ground and that the remaining leaves on the trees are becoming more and more colorful… you too? If you are a fall lover like myself and are looking to celebrate this time of year, I recommend checking out this hidden Colorado restaurant that is surrounded by some of the most breathtaking of fall colors:
Tucked away in the charming mountain town of Grand Lake lies the Historic Rapids Lodge and Restaurant; Grand Lake's only riverside dining that has been "offering great food and ambiance since 1915!"
(Needless to say, because of its location, the Rapids is the place to be no matter the time of year, yet still manages to come to life even more in the autumn with all of the changing colors, crisp air, and cooler temperatures.)
The Historic Rapids Lodge and Restaurant is located at 210 Rapids Ln in Grand Lake and is open from Wednesday through Monday from 11 am to 3 pm for lunch, 3 pm to 5 pm for appetizers, and for dinner beginning at 5 pm.
