We are halfway through 2018 and you know what that calls for? A drink, of course! (Like we really needed an excuse!) If you want to go out tonight and try something different, we recommend grabbing a beer at the oldest and most historic bar in Colorado.
You know Silverthorne for its epic skiing and 4,000 friendly residents...
...but did you know that it is also home to the oldest mobile bar in the state?
Welcome to the historic Mint, whose architecture has remained the same since it was built as a mining bar in 1862!
While the Buffalo Rose in Golden technically opened three years before the Mint, it is currently undergoing renovations and not expected to re-open until later this year, making the Mint the current oldest.
Originally located in the mining village of Kokomo, the bar AND building has been uprooted and moved a handful of times, calling Kokomo, Frisco, Dillon, and (now) Silverthorne its home.
Since becoming a Silverthorne fixture, the Mint has upped the ante in terms of menu items and now serves not only a huge selection of drinks, but also...
...juicy steaks and sides!
Did we mention that you get to pick and grill your own steak? Yum!
The Mint Steakhouse is located at 347 Blue River Pkwy. in Silverthorne and is open Sunday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
