While the word “strange” can have a bad consignation, we here at Only in Colorado happen to think it is WONDERFUL! I mean, think about it; there’s “Stranger Things,” strange science, and this wonderfully strange Colorado community that you are going to want to visit:
Located between Boulder and Longmont in Boulder County lies the town of Niwot; a community of just over 4,000 residents and some of the most fun and colorful businesses in the state!
Named for the 19th Century Arapaho Chief Niwot (which translates to "left hand"), Niwot is the 17th wealthiest location in Colorado (with a per capita income of $39,943) and boasts not only historic buildings and attractions to visit, but also...
...a thriving arts and music scene...
...a number of annual and special events...
(While festivals and special events may seem like a fairly standard thing, Niwot goes ALL out with such epic and popular get-togethers as their summertime Rock & Rails, Great Pumpkin Party, and toe-tapping Jazz on 2nd Ave concert.)
...and -- of course -- "Eleven gift shops, ten eateries, two brew spots, & zero stop lights."
Seriously, folks; this ain't the small town you grew up visiting your grandparents in, so make plans to visit for a few days in order to see, experience, and taste everything this "strange" city has to offer!
