It’s been called “The #1 Travel Experience in Breckenridge” by the Travel Channel. You can get the luxe dinner sleigh ride, which includes a delicious meal as well as soup, top sirloin or chicken breast, rolls, baked potato, veggies, and warm apple pie with whipped cream. Or you can go simpler with the scenic hot chocolate ride, which comes with the beverage and live entertainment.
What are the best holiday events in Colorado?
Colorado has some unique holiday events to enjoy, including a visit to a gingerbread village, the largest display of its type in the region, at Christmastime at the Broadmoor, the Christmas Mountain in Salida where you can see a 750-foot tall “tree” light display, and the Christmas Lights Waterfall at Seven Falls, one of the only attractions of its kind in the country. What was the biggest snowfall in Colorado?
In December of 1913, a blizzard hit Colorado and dumped 45.7 inches of snow onto Denver, 53 in Estes Park, and 86 in Georgetown. It was devastating, causing several buildings and structures in Denver to collapse beneath the heavy precipitation. The community came together to help clear the streets, with hundreds of local men shoveling snow and hundreds of horse-drawn wagons hauling and dumping it around Civic Center Park.
