When you think of states with epic theme parks, which come to mind? Let me guess: California and Florida, right? While these coastal states do have a lot to offer, the Centennial State also deserves to make the list, as it is home to the only mountain-top theme park in America.
Located in - you guessed it - Glenwood Springs, the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park is as historic as it is unique, thanks to its fascinating cavern history and award-winning rides.
Opened near the top of Iron Mountain in the 1890s, the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park began with cave tours before expanding to different thrill and family-friendly rides, shopping, and dining.
Much like its original days, guests can still tour Glenwood Cavern's various caves, which range from the short and sweet 40-minute Fairy Caves walking tour to the high-adrenaline Wild Tour.
As we previously mentioned, Glenwood Caverns also offers rides of all kinds, including the thrilling Haunted Mine Drop, Soaring Eagle Zip Ride, and famous Alpine Coaster.
Admission to the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park cave tour starts at $34 for adults and $29 for kids or $61 for adults and $56 for kids for an all-day pass to all of the park's attractions.
Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park is open Monday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Wednesday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
