What is a Mountain Plover? These unique, migratory bird that can be found throughout Colorado. Though it has "mountain" in its name, these birds actually prefer a flat land habitat.
The Mountain Plover Festival is held in April because this is the time of year when Mountain Plovers return to their ideal nesting ground in the Eastern Plains. This year, the festival will run from Friday, April 26 through Sunday, April 28, 2019.
