North Park, Colorado
I've never even heard of North Park, Colorado before, and I've lived in Colorado all my life. Where is it, exactly?
You won't be surprised to learn that North Park is way up north in Colorado! It's almost in Wyoming.
- It's 12 miles from Walden, which is to the south.
- It's an hour from Laramie, Wyoming, which is to the northwest.
- It's two hours west of Fort Collins, if you go the fastest way - which is through Laramie.
- It's northwest of the Colorado Medicine Bow National Forest.
That sounds great, but it also sounds like it's very out of the way! I may make it up there sometime, but what are some other lakes I should visit in Colorado?
Despite being a very dry state, Colorado has a lot of lakes, thanks to the snow melt off the Rocky Mountains! There are so many beautiful ones that you should visit. Here are a few to get you started:
- Maroon Lake
- Island Lake
- Dream Lake
- Twin Lakes
- Lake San Cristobal
- Trout Lake
- Lake Dillon
- Molas Lake
- Lake Haiyaha
This post above says that North Park, Colorado is the moose sighting capital of the world! Wow! Where else can I see moose and other wildlife in Colorado?
Ahh, one of the best things about Colorado is all the wildlife. It's everywhere! You really just need to get out into nature to see it and it will find you. With that said, though, here are a few places in Colorado where I personally have spotted some moose!
- Rocky Mountain National Park
- Near the town of St. Elmo
- Near the town of Como
