It is no secret that if you live in Colorado, you are most likely athletic, a lover of food, and a dog(s) owner, but there is one more thing – according to WalletHub – that you can add to your repertoire: you are a genius. That’s right, folks: Coloradans are officially some of the smartest and most educated people in the county! Here is why:
As per WalletHub, the study compared each state via 18 different metrics that determine a well-educated population, including achievement gaps between both genders and races, educational attainment, school quality, and more.
In addition to scoring high on each of the 18 metrics, Colorado was also recognized for scoring 1st in "Highest Percentage of Associate's Degree Holders or College-Experienced Adults" and 2nd in the "Highest Percentage of Bachelor's Degree Holders."
Coming in ahead of Colorado as the most educated states in the country are Massachussettes (scoring a 1 in "Educational Attainment" and a 3 in "Quality of Education"), Maryland (3 and 1), Connecticut (4 and 5), and Vermont (5 and 7, pictured), whereas Colorado scored a 2 and 35, respectively.
In terms of the least educated states in the country, WalletHub lists Kentucky at #45 (scoring a 46 in "Educational Attainment" and a 14 in "Quality of Education"), followed by Alabama (46 and 41), Arkansas (47 and 31), Louisiana (48 and 42), Mississippi (49 and 44), and West Virginia (50 and 39, pictured).
