Do you believe? No, we aren’t talking about any sort of religion and/or Santa Claus, but rather Big Foot, AKA Sasquatch, AKA the Missing Link. If you consider yourself a believer of this larger-than-life character, you best make a trip to Park County, Colorado, which has had more reported sightings of the Missing Link than any other part of the Centennial State:
Park County is known far and wide as being the home of Fairplay/South Park, but it can now add something else to its repertoire: having the most Big Foot sightings in Colorado!
According to the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization (the BFRO), Colorado has reported a whopping 128 sightings since the organization's inception, with Park County accounting for 13.
Spanning several years, the first report out of Park County came in April 1972, when "Hikers observe animal crouched next to a pond in the Lost Creek Wilderness Area."
While there were several more instances in between, the latest report out of Park County – dated August 2018 – cited a "Mother and daughter have a scary daytime encounter while hiking on North Twin Cone."
In addition to the reports out of Park County, other counties throughout the state have issued similar reports, including Teller (9), Conejos (8), Larimer (8), and Lake (8).
