When it comes to camping, people from all over the U.S. (and the world!) flock to Colorado for our delightful designated areas, majestic mountains, and all-around stunning scenery. While the Centennial State is chock-full of places to pitch a tent, we cannot get enough of this one campground in particular that may just be the most beautiful in the entire state:
Located just outside of Silverton, Molas Lake Park & Campground is a colorful 137-acre campground that sits beside the infamously gorgeous Million Dollar Highway.
Given to the Town of Silverton by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management in 1925, Molas Lake has been a historically sought after camping destination that is not only located amidst the amazing San Juan Mountains, but also sits adjacent to the largest wilderness area in the state (the Weminuche Wilderness)!
With all of this being said (and seen), it is no wonder that Molas Lake Park Campground has received accolades from both Colorado Getaways and AAA ("Most Scenic Campground in Colorado")!
Molas Lake Park & Campground is located along U.S. Highway 550 near Silverton and is currently accepting reservations for campsites. For more information on costs and availability, please visit Molas Lake's website.
