The most iconic and easy-to-recognize landmark in America is the Statue of Liberty, which sits on Liberty Island in the New York Harbor and represents freedom and the American dream. While one must travel to the East Coast to see Lady Liberty in person, there is a miniature Statue of Liberty in Colorado.
Hiding out in Fort Collins is the aptly-named Statue of Liberty Replica.
Located on the outskirts of City Park, the miniature Statue of Liberty has been standing watch over this Northern Colorado town since 1985 after being moved from its original location in Loveland.
The Statue of Liberty Replicas in Fort Collins and Loveland are not the only two miniature versions of the landmark; far from it, in fact, as there are an estimated 200 around the country.
Purchased through the Kansas City Boy Scouts office in honor of the organization's 40th anniversary, the Fort Collins Statue of Liberty Replica was a gift from the Boy Scouts of America, Longs Peak Council.
