While Colorado waterfalls are beautiful year round, we happen to think that they are even more-so come springtime. Not sure which to visit first? Why not start with one that is as easy to access as it is beautiful, which is exactly what you will find with this short and sweet Colorado waterfall hike:
Located near the stunning town of Telluride is the equally gorgeous Cornet Creek Falls.
Situated a mere 0.25-mile from downtown Telluride, Cornet Creek boasts dramatic 80-foot-tall falls, which are made even more jaw-dropping by the red rocks surrounding it.
Access to the trail can be found at the top of North Aspen Street and then continuing straight (versus turning left, which takes you to the Corner Creek Bridge and the Jud Wiebe Trail).
Please note: Though it is only a 0.5-mile round trip, there is loose gravel and dirt on the trails, so tread carefully!
In addition to being a killer place to hike, Cornet Creek Falls is also popular for ice climbing in the winter, making it a highly sought after destination year round.
As if you really needed another reason to love this hike, you get a pretty stellar birds-eye view of Telluride on the walk back!
Cornet Creek Falls are open year-round but are said to be in their best condition May through October, so make plans to visit soon.
