Do you ever watch Back to the Future and think, “Dang; I wish I had a cool DeLorean that would let me travel back in time!”? Sadly, Marty McFly and his 80s-tastic car are both hard to find, which is why we are extremely grateful for places like this little-known Colorado attraction that allows you to travel through time:
Welcome to the beautiful Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site; a Colorado treasure that takes its guests through centuries of state history.
"Several periods of development took place on this property and significant historic structures remain here," including the homes of the Ute and Plains Indians...
...1860's homesteaders...
...and even the original estate of Colorado Springs founder General William J. Palmer.
Located in, you guessed it, Colorado Springs, the Rock Ledge Ranch is considered one of America's premier historic sites, even earning a spot on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
In addition to the well-preserved and historically significant structures, the Ranch also hosts a number of special events, like a Colorado Living History School Program, Southern Colorado Bluegrass and Culinary Arts Festival, and even a Labor Day Vintage Baseball Game.
The Rock Ledge Ranch Historic Site is located at 3105 Gateway Rd. in Colorado Springs and is open Wednesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
