How does a quiet hike upon which you probably won’t see anyone else sound? Great? There are few places in Colorado where this is the case due to our highly active population, many of whom are hitting the trails every day, or at least every weekend. However, you can get a quiet and secluded hike if you head out to the plains, and one excellent trail on the plains that you should check out is the Picture Canyon Trail in the Comanche National Grassland.

Comanche National Grassland is in southeastern Colorado near the border of Oklahoma. It covers over 433,000 acres and is a quiet and beautiful place.

The Picture Canyon Trail is a 2 mile, out and back trail with only 95 feet of elevation gain along the way, so it's quite an easy trail to undertake.
