Castlewood Canyon State Park is a nature lover’s paradise. The 2,600-acre state park is quite the hidden gem in the Centennial State and is ripe with adventure. Several hiking trails range from easy to difficult, making it an ideal spot for nature lovers with varying skillsets. If you’re looking for an easy hike that you and your kids can do, then the Lake Gulch Trail is perfect. Let’s check it out.

You can access the Lake Gulch Trail through the eastern entrance of the park.

The East Park Entrance has over 13 miles of trails that range from easy to moderate. It's perfect for anyone just looking for a short and sweet hike or an outdoor adventure they can do with the family. The West Park Entrance has several trails as well, but these trails are a little more difficult, making them ideal for rock climbers or anyone looking to challenge themselves.
The Lake Gulch Trail is just shy of a mile (0.9 miles) and is rated as easy.
