What a time to be alive, right? We have technology galore, luxuries our grandparents never dreamed of, and the world at our fingertips, which makes our lives all the more fast-paced and busy. While all of the above can be wonderful, do you ever wish you could travel to a simpler time where the world moved a little slower? If so, look no further than the impressive yet little-known Golden History Park in Colorado:
Formerly known as Clear Creek History Park, the Golden History Park is an indoor and outdoor museum tucked away along beautiful Clear Creek.
Located in Golden, the Golden History Park "re-creates the look and feel of a late 1800s mountain ranch" via several permanent fixtures and temporary exhibits.
Along the grounds of the Golden History Park, you will discover beautiful circa 1878 and 1873 cabins, a 2-seater outhouse, a chicken coop (with live chickens), a schoolhouse, and more.
In addition to the outdoor portion, the Golden History Park is also home to a History Museum that features permanent and temporary exhibits like the Torch Gallery, Epic Events, Legendary People, and Confection Perfection: Jolly Rancher Company.
Please note: As of this publication (and due to Covid-19), the History Museum portion of the Park is open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
