Once upon a time, mills played a vital role in the Colorado economy, but are now merely reminders of a different time. While most of these historic buildings are no more, there are still a few intact, including this incredible old Colorado mill that you will want to see while you still can:
At the turn of the 20th century, mining was huge throughout Colorado, and historic Park County was no exception. It housed such rich quarries as the Orphan Boy, Sweet Home, and London Mines.
The Paris Mine was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2013. It's a well-preserved gem that still has many of its original features and is currently undergoing extensive preservation.
