No matter what the season, if you’re headed up to the mountains to enjoy some relaxation or adventure, there’s a good chance that you’re going to get hungry on the way. If you’re coming from the Denver Metro area, then the perfect town to stop for food is Idaho Springs, which is just far enough from the metropolitan area that your trip is already underway, but you haven’t gone so far that you’re starving. Further, Idaho Springs is right on I-70, so you won’t lose much time en route. So if you’re looking for the best place to eat there, then you’re going to love Clear Creek Cidery and Eatery, a hidden gem restaurant in Idaho Springs, Colorado that will really hit the spot.
Clear Creek Cidery & Eatery is waiting for you in Idaho Springs! It's right off the highway on the main strip of town: Miner Street.
If you are driving, though, there's plenty of food here to satisfy you, and all of it is excellent. Perhaps you'd like to start out with a beautiful charcuterie board like this one?
The burgers at Clear Creek Cidery & Eatery are spectacular and are favorite menu items of many. The Cider Burger features applewood-smoked bacon, apple chutney, caramelized cider onions, bleu cheese crumbles, and peppercorn aïoli.
Conner's Reuben was voted best in Colorado in 2022. It is made of Guinness-marinated corned beef, roasted sauerkraut, house-made Thousand Island dressing, and melted Swiss on toasted marble rye. You can also get it with house-smoked turkey if you prefer.
On your way back down from the mountains, you may want to stop here again to get more cider. Still, though, please don't drink and drive - leave the drinking to the passengers only!
