The scariest time of the year is upon us which means it is time to break out the 1970s slasher flicks, don we now our goriest apparel, and visit every haunted house within a 100-mile radius. If you hate the cheesy, obviously fake haunted houses, there is good news for you, as Colorado is home to a haunted house that is so morbid and terrifying that you have to sign a waiver to enter:
Taking place November 8th and 9th (2019) is Blackout, which consists of "You and your friends, one glowstick, total darkness."
Presented by the world-famous 13th Floor Haunted House, Blackout is a 30+ minute experience that takes place in a dark room (hence the name and only one glowstick per group) and features monsters and mayhem that are sure to terrify you.
Please note: Because of the darkness and intense set, it is not uncommon to lose your glowstick or become separated from your group. You have been warned.
Since Blackout is geared toward adults and the actors on set are extra frightening, participants must sign a waiver before entering the event, which virtually guarantees a more terrifying experience.
While Blackout may seem like it is still a ways away, tickets are expected to sell out fast, so be sure to keep checking the 13th Floor's website for pre-sale tickets and more information.
Can't wait until November to get your fill of fear? No problem, as the 13th Floor (named one of the "Top 5 Most Terrifying Haunted Houses in the U.S.A. by USA Today) kicks off Friday, September 13th at 7 p.m.!
