This Rare Footage In The 1940s Shows Colorado Like You've Never Seen It Before
World War II was a changing time in America… Sons were leaving home, daughters were going out into the workforce for the first time, and loved ones were losing their lives overseas. Another great change that occurred in Colorado during this time was President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s Executive Order 9066, in which Japanese Americans were moved into government run relocation centers following the bombing on Pearl Harbor. One of these temporary assembly centers was that of the Granada War Relocation Center (or Camp Amache), which was located near the small Colorado town of Granada.
