While Colorado is home to various types of architecture, there is still something thrilling and downright surprising about seeing a castle in the distance. If you are having a hard time finding one of these majestic dwellings — or are just looking to see the Centennial State in a whole new way — check out this hidden castle in Colorado that almost no one knows about:
Nestled away in Colorado Springs is the beautiful and historic Glen Eyrie Castle, which invites its guests to "escape the ordinary and create memories that will last a lifetime."
Built in the late 1800s by Colorado Springs founder William Jackson Palmer, Glen Eyrie is an English Tudor-style castle that boasts a whopping 17 guest rooms, 2 dining rooms, and 24 fireplaces.
Purchased by the international, non-denominational Christian organization The Navigators in 1953 — and then listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975 — the once private residence is now open to the public, welcoming guests to special events and banquets...
...high teas...
...and the crème de la crème: overnight stays in one of the castle's luxurious guest rooms.
Major bragging rights — telling your friends you stayed the night in a CASTLE.
The Glen Eyrie Castle is located at 3820 N 30th St in Colorado Springs. For more information on reservations and upcoming events, please visit their website .
