Spring is the time to be outdoors and enjoy not only the comfortable temperatures but colorful blooms! While many of us cannot visit our favorite outdoor attractions at this time, there is still a way to take in one of Colorado’s most iconic gardens, which is via this virtual tour of the Denver Botanic Gardens:
Located in both downtown Denver and Littleton (via Chatfield Farms), the Denver Botanic Gardens "strives to entertain and delight while spreading the collective wisdom of the Gardens through outreach, collaboration, and education," which they succeed at doing year-round!
Each home to dozens of acres of unique gardens, the Denver Botanic Gardens and Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms house everything from seasonal outdoor flowers to a tropical conservatory, trees, sensory gardens, and much more.
As of this publication, both the Denver Botanic Gardens and Chatfield Farms are closed amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, but still offer tours of their incredible grounds via their website.
Thanks to the staff at both locations, there are nearly 20 virtual tours that you can take from the comfort (and safety) of your home, including the Bill Hosokawa Bonsai Pavilion, Conservatory Palm Collection, and Outdoor Blooms and Fruit Tour.
In addition to viewing certain collections, virtual guests of the Denver Botanic Gardens can search for select plants, explore garden features, discover what plants are in bloom, and even upload their own tour!
