Anyone who’s ever had or loved a parrot – or any type of bird – knows just how much personality each has and how much fun it is to live with them. Unfortunately, animal lovers also know about the crisis that many birds, and other pets, face. Rescued from abuse, neglect, and homelessness, parrots and other avians find a safe haven – until a permanent home is found – or sanctuary for life at this amazing parrot sanctuary in Colorado that you can tour.
Embark on an inspirational 90-minute tour of The Gabriel Foundation, in Elizabeth, an aviary and adoption center that...
Matches parrots, and other birds, with potential adopters. And, the sanctuary provides a safe haven and a loving forever home for those birds who are not adoptable.
During your tour, you'll have the opportunity to watch an educational video, to ask a volunteer questions, and to meet some of the birds. (However, keep in mind that the tour is for educational purposes and not for guests to play with the resident birds.)
Tours generally run Tuesday and Saturday at 10:30 a.m. and on Saturday at 1 p.m. Fees are $10 for adults who pay online and $15 for those who pay at the door. Children six to 18 pay $5 online or $10 at the door. Kids under five are free.
