Do you ever wish you could go where everybody knows your name, and they’re always glad you came? If you want to be where everybody knows your name – or, at the very least, are friendly and welcoming – there is no place better than this charming Colorado town that is the perfect place for a pick-me-up:
Located in northwest Colorado, Meeker is a Rio Blanco County town of 2,500 residents that is nestled along the White River near the base of the Flat Tops Wilderness, with 75% of the surrounding area managed by US Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, and/or the state.
With all of the above being said, one may think that we are writing about the most beautiful town in Colorado, but Meeker is also the friendliest, thanks to its incredibly close-knit yet welcoming community.
Since the community is steeped in a rich agricultural scene, the town is made up of many good, salt-of-the-earth farmers and their families, which plays into Meeker's friendliness.
As if the friendly folks were not reason enough to visit, Meeker is also home to some of the state's best hunting and outdoor recreation, plus unique shopping and dining, museums, special events, festivals, and much more.
