Mark Your Calendar For These Can't-Miss Free Days Around Colorado

Do you have kids (or are you a kid at heart) who loves animals? Lucky for you, the Denver Zoo is one of the best zoos in the country and offers free admission on January 10th & 18th, February 2nd, April 9th, October 20th, and November 10th and 14th. 

Arguably the crowned jewel of Colorado is our incredible national parks, which include the likes of the Great Sand Dunes, Mesa Verde, and Rocky Mountain National Park. While entrance fees can vary between $5 to $35, there are a few times to visit when costs are waived, including January 20th, April 18th, August 25th, September 26th, and November 11th. 

Alright, Southern Colorado: This one is for you! Housed on the campus of Colorado College, the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center offers free admission on the second Saturday and third Friday of each month.

Another favorite in terms of Denver museums is the Denver Museum of Nature & Science, which is also generous in terms of free days, with waived admission on January 6th and 26th, February 10th and 23rd, April 26th, May 31st, July 1st, August 12th, September 2nd and 21st, October 11th, and December 6th. 

If you live in (or are visiting) Denver, you may as well take in all the free days you can, right? When you have littles, there is no better place to go than the Children’s Museum of Denver at Marsico Campus, which will be free on January 7th, February 4th, March 3rd, April 7th, May 5th, June 2nd, July 7th, August 4th, September 1st, October 6th, November 3rd, and December 1st. 

As per this Southern Colorado favorite, in "order to ensure that every child and family can visit, we offer Pay-As-You-Can basic admission every other month," which waives the usual admission fee on January 12th, March 8th, May 10th, July 12th, September 13th, and November 8th.

In the summertime, when the weather is high (or even in the spring, fall, and winter!), there is nothing lovelier than a walk through the Denver Botanic Gardens York Street. To make your experience even better, the Gardens will waive their fee on January 20th, February 17th, March 22nd, April 19th, June 23rd, July 13th, August 11th, and November 11th. 

If you live in south Denver and enjoy fragrant blooms, too, you will want to visit Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms on January 7th, February 4th, March 3rd, April 7th, June 2nd, July 7th, August 4th, and/or November 3rd.
