Our road trip starts on the prairie at Pawnee Buttes in the Pawnee National Grassland. So many people focus only on the mountains in Colorado, but the prairie is spectacular, too - and in the springtime, it's rich with wildflowers.

2. Roxborough State Park
Roxborough State Park, 4751 Roxborough Dr, Littleton, CO 80125, USA
From there, head southwest and across the Denver metro to Roxborough State Park. Wildflowers in this park look especially beautiful with the backdrop of the park's red rock formations.
Zig zag north from Roxborough to Rocky Mountain National Park. This incredible park is one of the best places to see wildflowers in the world - not just in Colorado.
Hike the Herman Gulch Trail near Dillon to see even more flowers. Lots of Colorado blue columbines grow along this trail - they're Colorado's state flower.
Formerly known as Mount Evans, Mount Blue Sky is one of Colorado's most famous mountains. The road to the top is the highest in North America. Flowers burst with colors everywhere along the way.
The Indian Peak Wilderness is yet another breathtaking place in our great state. This 73,931 acre wilderness area is full of epic trails - and epic wildflowers!
Crested Butte is, in my opinion, one of the very best small towns in Colorado at any time of the year. In the spring and summer, you'll see views like this one. It's almost dream-like!
Finally, American Basin near Ouray is well-known as one of the very best places in the whole state of Colorado to see wildflowers. The colors and variety here are absolutely incredible. This spot is the perfect place to end our wildflower road trip.
This Colorado flower road trip is one that you’ll never forget! You’re going to love everything about this colorful adventure. Have fun and drive safe!
