If you have an animal lover in the family, you cannot afford to miss the incredible Wild Animal Sanctuary, which is arguably one of the best in the country! Home to 650+ exotic animals over 789 acres, the Wild Animal Sanctuary offers guests a unique look at these beautiful creatures via 1.5 miles of elevated walkways.

Located inside of - you guessed it! - the Downtown Aquarium, the Aquarium Restaurant is hands-down the most magical place to eat in the Mile High City, as the dining room is surrounded by a centerpiece 50,000-gallon aquarium full of colorful fish. Even better? You may see a mermaid or two while you dine.

If you are traveling with younger kids, you will want to stop at the historic and aptly-named Tiny Town! Opened to the public in 1920, Tiny Town is chock-full of miniature homes and businesses, plus a tiny train that guests of all ages can ride through town. All aboard!

Come on: You can't get any more whimsical and family-friendly than Santa's Workshop and how lucky are we to have it located in Colorado?! Featuring acres of rides, shows, and other entertainment, the North Pole may be the epitome of a Colorado childhood, and for a great reason!

While there are many things that we recommend seeing and doing around the area (Hanging Lake or Glenwood Hot Springs, anyone?), our favorite for families is hands-down the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park! Whether you feel like exploring the cave or screaming your head off while riding one of their world-class thrill rides, there is something for everyone to enjoy at this unique mountain park.

Dinosaurs are synonymous with childhood, so doesn't it make sense to have a prehistoric stop along the way? Enter Dinosaur Journey: an interactive museum complete with 15,000 fossil specimens, life-size replicas, and plenty of hands-on learning opportunities for kids of all ages.
