The One Paranormal Festival In Colorado That Will Spook You Into Oblivion
The spookiest time of the year is upon us (I mean, have you been to the store in the last two months?), which means that it is time to begin scoping out all of the haunted and/or paranormal places around Colorado. If you are looking for suggestions, we recommend checking out this one paranormal festival that will spook you into oblivion:
What do you do when a coffin containing human remains slides down the side of Red Mountain and lands near your town? You throw an annual festival complete with a huge coffin race, of course! Taking place on October 28, 2017 in Manitou Springs is the 23rd Annual Emma Crawford Coffin Race & Parade, which pays homage to the late Crawford (whose coffin really did slide down the side of Red Mountain after years of rain and other harsh weather conditions) through fun — albeit slightly morbid — coffin races, costume contests, a parade, and drinking lots of beer and eating lots of delicious food truck fare. If you plan to attend this year’s festivities, come early, as the street fills up quickly for the 12 pm parade, races, and crowning of the “Best Miss Emma” impersonator. (Seriously; I can’t decide if this is hilarious, epic, messed up, or a combination of the three…)
