I have some AWESOME news for you, Colorado! Beginning this weekend, it is socially acceptable to put up your Christmas tree, decorations, and lights (though acceptance has never stopped me from doing it the week before Halloween…), and drive around to look at all the beautiful displays throughout the state. If you are ready to be awed this Christmas season, make plans to visit this mesmerizing display with more than 50 acres of glittering lights:
If you thought the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo was awesome on any regular day (which, of course, it still is!), wait until you get a load of it over the coming weeks...
...as it transforms into the the highly-anticipated Electric Safari!
Taking place from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. December 8th through the 10th, December 15th through the 23rd, and December 25th through January 1st, the Electric Safari features 85 delightful light sculptures over the zoo's 50 acres, which include colorful elephants...
...mischievous felines...
...larger-than-life reptiles and more!
In addition to the light displays, the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is also offering a number of special events, including visits with Santa (pictured), shows, and rare animal encounters.
(There are no words to adequately describe just how happy this picture makes me!)
The Cheyenne Mountain Zoo's Electric Safari is located at 4250 Cheyenne Mountain Zoo Rd in Colorado Springs and offers admission beginning at $9.75 for adults, $8.75 for seniors, and $6.75 for children ages 2 to 12.
