Webster’s Dictionary defines the word boonies as “a rural area; sticks.” Does this definition remind you of any place in particular? It certainly does for us! When we think of the “boonies,” we can’t help but think of this one Colorado location that is way out of the way for most of us, but so worth the drive:

Located in the very northwest corner of the state, Dinosaur is a small statutory town of 339 that is known to turn heads because of its unusual name.

Interesting fact: The town was called Artesia until 1966, when it was unanimously changed to Dinosaur.
