As you can see, the Devil’s Causeway is a bit wicked in its own way, but if you are an experienced hiker, this grimly-named landmark is truly heaven-on-earth. Located south of Steamboat Springs, the Devil’s Causeway is a jagged and narrow peak that stands at an elevation of nearly 12,000 feet and is recommended for only the most skilled of hiker, as some spots are a mere four-feet-wide. In addition to its iconic rocky ridge, the six-mile hike around the Devil’s Causeway also features stunning views of the lush valleys below and a killer photo-op (with built-in bragging rights).

The Devil’s Causeway is located within the jaw-dropping Flat Tops Wilderness and can be accessed via the Stillwater Reservoir Trailhead or Ripple Creek Pass Trailhead. For more information and in-depth directions, please check out this thorough guide on Summit Post.
