Have you ever thought that you would like to canvas a narrow and jagged ridge via skill and fancy footwork? Whether the answer is yes or no, you will want to check out the Devil’s Causeway, which may sound downright wicked, but is worth the visit (whether or not you decide actually to cross):
Located atop the stunning Flat Tops Wilderness near Yampa, the Devil's Causeway Loop Trail is a moderate 10.6-mile path that leads hikers through lush forests and a lake to its namesake Devil's Causeway.
Billed by the U.S. Forest Service as a "narrow strip of land that connects two major sections of the Flat Tops," the rocky Devil's Causeway is only 3-feet-wide and - for safety reasons - can only be accessed by foot.
As you can see, the Devil's Causeway is truly a sight to behold, but unless you are an experienced hiker with outstanding balance, it is recommended you skip this one.
The Devil's Causeway can be accessed via the Stillwater Reservoir Trailhead or Ripple Creek Pass Trailhead, both of which are located inside the Flat Tops Wilderness.
