Much like other thriving metropolises in our country, Denver’s craft coffee scene is experiencing a refreshing jolt!  And as a self-proclaimed coffee(house) addict, I couldn’t be happier.  Each Mile High coffee shop – both old and new – has a style and ambience completely its own and something distinct to offer its customers.  Whether you’re a caffeine connoisseur, an educated consumer, or just your average joe looking for a cup of the same, these coffee shops in Denver will fulfill your mug and your every java need.

This open, modern, local coffee company in the Cherry Creek Shopping District is dedicated to superior products and meticulously crafted brews prepared by highly trained (hipster) baristas. Don't settle for one of the (four!) Starbucks just up the street. Aviano's small-batch, hand-sourced beans and modest selection of pastries are worlds apart from mass production, and their quaint, sunny patio is the perfect spot to read, chat, or simply be.

Not to be confused with their LoHi location (which is also amazing but quite different) Black Eye Coffee CapHill has redefined what a coffee establishment should be. It's an amalgamation of restaurant, bar, and java shop, with a chill romantic vibe and 1920's Great Gatsby-esque decor. From 6am-2am, they're slinging craft coffee and cocktails, as well as delectable eats, which makes it a splendid spot for a morning fix or a posh nightcap! (And don't forget to try their house cold-pressed juices.)

This laid-back coffee joint supports a variety of Colorado roasters and local businesses, such as Burrito Del Mar and Vail Mountain Tea, and can, therefore, accommodate you with tasty treats and blended beverages, as well as booze and kombucha on tap. They also have fresh, house made baked goods with gluten free, vegan, and paleo options. But perhaps the best feature of this unique space is the wide range of seating choices, including tables, couches, booths, patios, and even a man-cave style basement. Try it, and you'll be hooked!

In an unassuming carriage house built in 1896, is a husband-and-wife-owned-uptown-wonderfully-eccentric establishment with a vintage feel, delicious cold brew, hearty breakfasts and lunches, and of course, craft coffee. If you want to jazz up your order, try their notable lavender latte, one of their homemade syrups, or (if you're bold) coconut shavings for extra flare. And definitely stock up on wares from local purveyors, including honey, pickles, hot sauces, and even beard balm. So very Denver.

This coffee company has been serving the people of Denver for over 20 years, and the homey atmosphere at both their LoDo and Sunnyside locations certainly reflects that. There are sandwiches, antipasto, and hummus plates to accompany your coffee, as well as beer, wine, and happy hour specials. Grab a book or board game off their shelf and engage in some old school, healthy brain activity.

Right off busy 16th Street Mall in LoDo is a sleek, refined, pint-sized coffeehouse offering perfect pastries and a little reprieve from the bustle of Downtown. Sip their homemade almond milk latte alongside their Olive Oil Cake with berries and rest easy on one of their patios, front or back. The Little Owl is small, smooth, and state-of-the-art, just like its namesake.
