Denver may be nicknamed the Mile High City, but with as many paranormal places that keep springing up, it may as well be renamed the most haunted city in the U.S. Today’s tale comes to us from the suburb of Aurora; the home of what is quite possibly the creepiest and most haunted street in the Denver area:

Located east of Aurora, County Line Road is a seemingly innocent country road with a dark and deadly past. While driving along, you will encounter a small bridge over the dried-up Kiowa Creek; tread lightly, as this “Third Bridge” (or “Ghost Bridge”) is alleged to be haunted by the ghosts of Native Americans who lost their lives during a historic massacre. When you visit today and sit on the guard rails, be still and listen, for it is said you can hear the sounds of a beating drum and — if you’re lucky — maybe even get a glimpse of the famous ghost rider who still rides his horse around the area.
To make the story of County Line Road and the “Third Bridge” even more disturbing, two cars full of teenagers visited the site back in 1997 and crashed, killing two of the passengers and leaving a third permanently disabled. Since then, the area has been made safer (via a smaller drop from the bridge), but the area remains a tragic reminder of lives lost too soon.
