Are you planning to move to Denver? If so, let me be the first to welcome you to the best city on earth! To make your transition to becoming a Denverite even smoother, allow us to give you a heads up on these 15 things that you will quickly learn when moving to the Mile High City:
1.) The elevation is high...
5,280 feet above sea level, to be exact!
2.) ...and so are your neighbors.
Well, some of them are, as recreational marijuana is legal in the Mile HIGH City.
3.) The traffic is absolutely atrocious...
There is a special place in hell for the person who decided that Denver only needed one major interstate running north and south (I-25), and east and west (I-70).
4.) ...and nobody knows how to drive.
Except for my husband, of course (or so I'm told).
5.) Brunch is by far the most important meal of the day!
And the best place to get it is at Snooze.
6.) A true Denverite orders their food smothered in green chile...
Burritos, eggs, tiramisu... you name it, we smother it.
7.) ...and dips their pizza in honey.
Colorado-style, thick crust pizza FTW!
8.) No self-respecting local will voluntarily go to Casa Bonita.
Sure, the cliff divers are cool, but the only time you will see us there is if we are entertaining out-of-town guests.
9.) You will make more money in Denver...
10.) ...but you will spend it all on rent.
11.) Whether you head an hour west toward the mountains...
12.) ...an hour east toward the plains...
13.) ...or visit one of Denver's 20,000-acres worth of parks, you are sure to be in outdoor heaven.
No matter the weather, you will find us outside!
14.) Finally, we are ALL Broncos, ALL the time...
15.) ...and stand by our men through thick and thin.
Trust us, it isn't always easy.
Now that we have established the things you will quickly learn, it is time to check out the 13 Things Denverites Do That Seem Insane To Everyone Else .
