1. Bleed blue and orange.
There's no casual watching of Broncos football games on a Sunday afternoon in your recliner. As a fan in Denver, you'd better go big or go home.
2. No Excuses.
You'd better keep to your exercise regime no matter what. A little snow or small blizzard doesn't stop the citizens of one of the fittest cities in the country from getting out and getting a workout.
3. Order a micro brew.
You are in Denver, after all. If you want to truly experience the authentic Denver culture, choose a brew from one of numerous local craft breweries.
4. Don't plan on moving very fast on I-70 during ski season.
Traffic to and from popular ski resorts in the winter is brutal. There's simply not much you can do about it, so sit back, relax and think about getting an earlier start next time you head up.
5. You will often start your day dressed like this.
...and end it dressed like this!
The four seasons in Denver often overlap and the weather can vary greatly in one day. One rule that Denver residents have becomes experts at is to be proactive and dress in layers!
6. Don't be afraid.
It's a fact, Blucifer is going to be there with its glowing red eyes everytime you go to DIA. Be brave and don't make eye contact.
7. Order it smothered in green chille.
Denverites will attest that many foods just taste better after green chille has been ladled on top.
8. Ride a bike.
It really is a preferred mode of transportation in the Mile High City. With more than 300 days of sunshine per year, Denver residents like to make the most of it and get outside for a ride.
9. If you only eat one meal, make it brunch.
Brunch is definitely a thing in Denver and you will find some amazing spots in the city to partake in this beloved weekend meal.
10. Not a native? Keep it on the down low.
Denver natives are pretty possessive of the place they call home. And, rightly so. It's an amazing city that, as a result, brings in transplants from near and far who want a chance to be a part of all that Denver has to offer.
