If you are looking for a quick hike that truly makes you feel like you’re getting away from it all without actually having to travel far from the city, than look no further than Roxborough State Park. Inside this beautiful park found just south of Denver in Littleton, you will discover a wide variety of trail options.
While the Willow Creek Trail may be short and sweet, it is definitely not lacking when it comes to wonderful things to see along the way.
In addition to the beautiful red rock that Roxborough State Park is known for, you will also most likely encounter wildlife and wildflowers (in season) along this 1.5 mile loop trail.
Many have spotted mule deer, eagles, foxes, and a wide variety of birds on the Willow Creek Trail.
This lovely little hike transports you to a serene setting that takes you through open meadows and nicely shaded areas as well.
The trail itself is a good option for all skill levels and as it stays at a lower elevation, yet still promises awe-inspiring views.
This hike will take you about one hour to complete and during that time, you will feel as though you have escaped the hustle and bustle of city life.
Pets are not allowed on this trail due to both the wildlife and sensitive plant life present on the trail.
