Denver and brunch go hand and hand, and the long lines on the weekends at Snooze are proof that you aren't the only one craving their pancakes. Go big and order the Pineapple Upside Down Pancakes or the Blackberry SubLIME variety. But really, you should probably just try a flight of pancakes where you can choose any three of the uniquely delicious flavors on their menu.
2. Wild game from the Buckhorn Exchange.

If you've ever had the pleasure of dining at Denver's oldest restaurant, the Buckhorn Exchange, you probably had the opportunity to enjoy unique meats such as elk, bison, and rattlesnake. Maybe you were even brave enough to give Colorado's famous rocky mountain oysters a try. Whatever the case, your experience at the Buckhorn Exchange will probably leave your mouth watering for those delicious delicacies for some time.

Racines has been a Denver favorite since 1983, and nothing beats their Mile High Nachos. You will be dreaming of the tower of homemade tortilla chips loaded with melted white cheddar cheese, black or refried beans, black olives, jalepenos, pico de gallo, sour cream, guacamole, and salsa.

Let's be honest... most of us don't associate Casa Bonita with fond food memories. But for some reason, we just can't get those freshly fried Sopapillas dripping with sweet honey out of our mind. So, while we may go for the entertainment (mariachi bands, cliff divers, etc.) we stay for the sweet memories of dessert as well.
5. We'll take it smothered in green chile.

My Brother's Bar is one of Denver's oldest bars, and the experience that comes with age has made them pros at grilling up delicious hamburgers wrapped in wax paper and served with a condiment cart. You will find yourself having a hankering for their JCB burger topped with American, Swiss, and cream cheese, jalepenos, and grilled onions.
7. Not just any hot dog....a gourmet hot dog from Biker Jim's.

You can get a decent hot dog just about anywhere, but Biker Jim's Gourmet Dogs are deliciously distinct with unique flavors such as reindeer and wild boar topped with anything from roasted cactus to cream cheese and caramelized onions.

Breakfast burritos have quite a following in the Mile High City. So much so, that the mayor of Denver recently named the second Saturday in October the official Breakfast Burrito Day of our city. You have numerous choices when this craving hits you, but Santiago's is kind of a legend in the world of breakfast wrapped up in a warm, delicious tortilla (again, with green chille).
10. Honey-dipped pizza crust.

No food list for Denver would be complete without mentioning the pillar of pizza here on the front range, Beau Jo's Colorado style pizza. Sinking your teeth into a hearty slice of mountain pie (that comes by the pound) and then dipping your crust in sticky honey will change you. Eating pizza will never be the same.

As you can see, Denver residents like a variety of foods, and it’s often the memories of both the food and the experience that makes us want to return to these places for a taste of home.
