Denver is a weird city… there, I said it. Now before you begin sending angry emails, just hear me out, because in this case, weird is a GOOD thing. You see, Denver is extremely unique, thanks in part to its diverse population, colorful arts scene, and quirky attractions galore, which can also be found in this nearby town that maybe smaller than Denver but is — dare I say — even more eccentric:
Located an hour and a half from Denver lies the small mountain town of Fairplay; a historic mining town that was founded in 1859 during the famous Pike's Peak Gold Rush.
After the silver and gold mines ran dry in the mid-20th century, the population of Fairplay greatly declined and is now home to an estimated 700 people.
