There is no shortage of adventures to have in and around Denver this summer… but with so many options, where does one even begin? Kick off July by taking one (or all) of these amazing treetop adventures that you can only have here in the Mile High City:
1.) Rocky Mountain National Park
Located about an hour and a half from the city lies the iconic Rocky Mountain National Park, which boasts views that are both high above the trees and along the lush valley! (We also happen to think that RMNP looks A LOT like Middle Earth... wouldn't you agree?)
2.) Manitou & Pike's Peak Railway (Manitou Springs)
Since the late 1800s, the Pikes Peak Cog Railway has been providing locals and tourists alike with a fun and easy way of traveling this iconic 14,115 foot Colorado summit! When you take a trip on the Pikes Peak Cog Railway, you will not only be traveling high above the trees, but above the entire state.
3.) Rocky Mountain TreeHouse (Carbondale)
Who says that tree houses are only for kids? Located in Carbondale, the Rocky Mountain TreeHouse is a charming 4-bedroom, 1-bathroom home that features a number of fun surprises like a peaceful and shady porch, hot tub with unbelievable views, and a collection of other luxurious amenities.
4.) Elf Lane (Red Feather Lakes)
While Elf Lane isn't above the trees, this magical attraction is nestled within them and features dozens of fairies, elves, and gnomes hiding out within their colorful, pixie-sized villages!
5.) Lawson Adventure Park
Located only 37 miles from Denver lies the small town of Lawson and the epic Lawson Adventure Park; an epic 40-acre park complete with zip lining, rock climbing, and -- as you can see -- this beautiful canopy walk.
6.) Castle Rock Zip Line Tours (Castle Rock)
Now that you have walked high above the tree line, it is time to fly high above it with Denver's #1 zip line. Located in the scenic Philip S. Miller Park, Castle Rock Zip Lines offers 10 different lines spanning a whopping 1 1/2 miles, including an iconic 1,500-foot dual race line that allows friends to glide side-by-side at 50 miles per hour.
7.) Sculptured House (Genesee)
Recognize this house? If you have traveled west on I-70 (or if you're an avid Woody Allen fan), you probably recognize the iconic Sculptured House, which sits high above the trees of Genesee Mountain. (While the home isn't open to the public, it is still worth mentioning, as you can easily see it from the interstate.)
8.)
Glenwood Canyon Zipline Adventures (Glenwood Springs)
Can you tell that we LOVE high-adrenaline thrills? Nestled just outside of Glenwood Springs is the Colorado Adventure Center, complete with this amazing 40-foot-tall rock climbing wall and its 3 levels of difficulty!
9.) Wild Animal Sanctuary (Keenesburg)
If you are an animal lover, the Wild Animal Sanctuary is the place to be! What makes this sanctuary a must-visit? It's the large "Mile Into The Wild Walkway," which allows visitors the opportunity to see the animals overhead via an expansive 1 1/2 mile walkway.
