Question: Is there anything in this world more satisfying than a juicy, perfectly cooked beef patty with drool-worthy toppings? Answer: No… And lucky for us Denverites, the city (and suburbs) are full of several stellar options, including:
1.) Park Burger (RiNo, Highlands, Pearl St., & Hilltop)
Oh, Park Burger... you know the way to our hearts with your fresh, all-natural ingredients; truffle parmesan fries; and kicking beer selection! (P.S. Save room for dessert -- these guys make a MEAN milkshake.)
2.) Cherry Cricket (Cherry Creek)
A pretty good rule-of-thumb to consider when it comes to restaurants is this: If it has been around for awhile, it's probably amazing. Enter Cherry Cricket, the "Black Sheep of Cherry Creek" that has been serving some of the best burgers and bar food in the area since 1945.
3.) Blackbelly Market (Boulder)
At first glance, my eyes were all, "Nah, this place seems too fancy to serve a good, old-fashioned burger." But after just one bite, my taste buds told my judgmental eyes to SHOVE. IT. You guys; this place (and the fact that they grow and butcher their own livestock) is INCREDIBLE!
4.) TAG Burger Bar (Congress Park & Highlands)
What do you get when you combine Gold Canyon natural reserve Angus beef, a fresh-baked Bluepoint Bakery bun, and other locally-grown ingredients? The kind of foodgasm that only comes from TAG.
5.) Bad Daddy's Burger Bar (Northglenn, Southglenn, Aurora, Cherry Creek North, DTC, & Southwest Plaza)
Bad Daddy's is my family's go-to, so I'd like to say I'm somewhat of an expert when it comes to their mouthwatering options. Not sure what to order? Get the Mama Ricotta's Burger with extra special sauce on the side for fry dipping. You're welcome.
6.) Crave Real Burgers (Castle Rock, LoDo, & Highlands Ranch)
Sure; their unconventional creations look like something I would have concocted while I was pregnant, but guess what? These "Crave"-able burgers actually taste pretty darn good (pregnant or not)!
7.) My Brother's Bar (Downtown)
Denver's oldest operating bar is also a beacon for some tasty meat. Sit back, enjoy a beer (or 5), and savor a delicious meal that can only come from such a timeless establishment.
8.) The Squeaky Bean (LoDo)
What's the deal with the whole farm-to-table crazy? I wasn't sure either... until I tried a Squeaky Bean cheeseburger with fresh ingredients grown on their own urban farm.
9.) 5280 Burger Bar (16th Street)
Don't be an "A**hole" (as per their menu, "We spent a lot of time thinking about this stuff, but if you know better, we’ll make it your way!"); order one of the expertly crafted, high-quality burgers like the 5280, Ring of Fire, or Durango!
10.) Highland Tap & Burger (LoHi)
Let's just say there is a reason that Highland's "Shroom Lova" burger (All natural beef patty, sauteed mushroom blend,
Ementhaler cheese, white truffl e aioli) was named one of Zagat's "2014 Top 15 Burgers
in the United States."
11.) Hopdoddy Burger Bar (Downtown)
Located inside Union Station, this Texas native sure knows what it's doing when it comes to flipping up some flavorful beef. (Having to admit that Texas makes good burgers was one of the most painful things I have ever had to do.)
12.) Juicy Burgers and Dogs (Englewood)
You're in luck, Southern Denver; for "succulent, mouthwatering hamburgers" are available right in your own backyard!
Obviously, this is the opinion of just one blogger, so now it’s your time to sound off: Which joint do YOU think makes the best burger? Sound off in the comments!
