The 1930s were a changing time in our country and Denver was no exception. In addition to the Great Depression, drought, and impending war, the railroad industry was continually changing, nearby mines were drying out, and yet life went on. The group was gathered at Chicago's Union Station to mark the first trip of the Denver Zephyr for regular service between these two cities."
