The 1930s were a changing time in our country and Denver was no exception. In addition to the Great Depression, drought, and impending war, the railroad industry was continually changing, nearby mines were drying out, and yet life went on. 1.) "Photo of the Burlington Pioneer Zephyr "Dawn to Dusk Club" comprised of those who rode the Pioneer Zephyr on its intial 1934 record breaking trip from Denver to Chicago. The group was gathered at Chicago's Union Station to mark the first trip of the Denver Zephyr for regular service between these two cities."
