Pack the kids up in the car, grab some hot cocoa, and prepare to be amazed as you take in this jaw-dropping Christmas light display near Denver. The “Broomfield Lights” home is not your typical Clark Griswold-esque house where “the more, the merrier” is the motto. No…this light display takes things to a whole new level and will provide a Christmas light show experience like none you’ve ever seen before.
This display features more than 2,000 RGB LED pixels that are synchronized to a rocking mash up of Christmas songs.
You will want to set your car radio to 91.3 to listen along as you watch the lights change as they are intricately choreographed to match the music. This year's playlist includes songs by Trans-Siberian Orchestra and Gary Hoey with a few popular Christmas movie quotes (Home Alone, Charlie Brown Christmas) interspersed between songs. Even those on foot or riding by on a bike can take in the full experience as two outdoor speakers play the music as well.
The show is 8.5 minutes long and runs every 10 minutes.
Instead of purchasing pre-fabricated Snowmen lawn ornaments, they ordered 3 white beach balls of different sizes for each snowman and glued them together. They then added the pixel lights making it possible to have each ball light up a different color when needed.
Another new feature added this year is the 7-segment displays on the garage door.
This can be compared to a calculator screen, but in this case the garage door display delightfully spells out various words from the songs being played.
You can find this display at 5061 Yates Circle in Broomfield, CO 80020.
The show runs nightly from dusk until 10 p.m and will continue through New Year's Eve.
